Hair Cutting....

So last night I attempted to cut Tel's hair for the third time. The first time (sometime at the end of September 09)was kind of a nightmare; I started chopping away at his hair with a load of confidence in myself. Then after I got a grasp of what I was actually doing, I froze up. I had started cutting off about 1-2 inches. The more scared I got, the less I cut. I think towards the end of the hair cut, I was only cutting off about 1cm. I hadn't really thought out my game plan ahead of time. I just thought I would remember how Lorraine had done it before. But then I realized that the few times I had watched Lorraine cut Tel's hair, I was in the mind frame that we would always be close enough for her to just do it. So in other words, I didn't pay enough attention when I should of. Anyways, back to Haircut #1, we weren't in the best setting either. It was in the evening and I couldn't find a place in the house that had enough lighting for me to see his hair. I had started with some sort of a guideline, but by the end, I couldn't even remember what side of his head I had cut. I guess I have always been very temperamental about Tel's hair. It honestly was the first thing that caught my eye about him. I loved his hair. So I don't want to be the one to ruin his hair. So I started freaking out that I was going to ruin his hair or snip off one of his wings. So I ended up just quitting in the middle of his hair cut and telling Tel that he would have to just wear a hat until his mom could fix the damage I had done.

Haircut #2 was smooth sailing. When Ron and Lorraine and Lisa came to visit us in Carlsbad, Lorraine brought me my own hair cutting scissors and shaver. So while she was here, Lorraine showed me how to cut Tel's hair again. This time I really paid attention. So his hair was fixed and looked great again.

Haircut #3 - So back to last night. Tel and I were watching this show, "The Sing Off" I think that's what it's called. Anyways, so I remembered most of what I was supposed to do. I cut all the back of his head and felt really good about it. Then when I got to the front, I froze up again. I remember Lorraine telling me that I needed to be careful about cutting Tel's front because of his callics and I could easily end up giving him a bald spot. She also showed me how to cut in upside down or something. So to make the story short, my arms were tired and I was too scared to cut the front of it, so I stopped after I had perfected the back, and I'm leaving the front for another lesson from Lorraine and for her to fix when we are in Soda. I actually think I would be a really good hair cutter if I had an assistant. One to hold my scissors while a comb more hair to cut, and one to watch my guideline so I don't forget what I'm doing.

I remember last May, Tel had his cousin cut his hair and he ended up cutting his hair to about 2 inches short. I was with him when it got cut, while I was sitting there I didn't know what to think. But as soon as we got out to Tel's truck, I started crying. I was so sad. I didn't even recognize Tel. I had never seen him with short hair and it was freaking me out. He kept telling me that it would grow back, which obviously it did. But every time I would see him for the next couple of weeks, it took me a second to realize it was tel, because he looked so different to me. Anyway, I know that is stupid, but I love tel's hair.

Christmas on the Desert

Tel mentioned last night that it didn't even feel like Christmas time. Christmas is a week away and it doesn't feel like it should be that soon. I guess this is probably because there is a lack of snow and Christmas decorations in our house. But I am so happy that we get to spend Christmas in Idaho. I know that as soon as we land at the airport in Salt Lake and see the snow, it will instantly feel like the Christmas season. I don't think Tel and I will ever be able to spend a Christmas in the desert. I can hardly wait to get to Soda.
Things I'm excited for:

My mom's prime rib Christmas Eve dinner
Skiing the Beave
Playing Pinochle
Seeing mom's pretty tree and living in what feels like a Christmas Village at my moms
Taking lots of pictures with the fam
Winning the ugly sweater contest
Seeing my nieces and nephews
Friends
Britta's bridal shower
Hot pots
Breakfast burritos
Lorraine's cookies
Granite hot springs
Dad playing the accordion
Seeing Nammie Nam
Playing lots of games
Cafe RIO!

Flock o Duck

We were running the other day, along the Pecos River (our favorite place to run), and there is always ducks along the river. When you run by the ducks they never move out of the way. It's annoying and there is duck poo everywhere. So I bet Sadie five bucks that I could touch the duck. So when we came upon this massive flock o duck, I slapped one of them, easy as pie. It was pretty intense and I about cried but, I am now the proud owner of five bucks. So let that be a lesson that you can always make money somehow.

More lists....

What would I do if I were suddenly a millionaire?
Buy a house with a lot of land
Buy another house in a cool vacation area
Invest it
Buy lots of clothes
Buy a Forerunner
Buy Tel alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of the many things he wants
The list goes on forever!

3 bad habits:
1. I love candy, not chocolate, but gummy candy
2. I wear mismatching socks, and I do it because it doesn’t bother me, but Tel hates it.
3. When I don’t know what to make for dinner, I always resort to blueberry pancakes and eggs. (I need to broaden my cooking horizon, but blueberry pancakes and eggs just taste so dang good to me.)

6 places I have lived:
1. Soda Springs, Idaho
2. Oakridge apt #16 E in Logan, UT
3. Another apt in Logan that starts with a “B”
4. A house in Logan somewhat close to the temple. I don't remember the address.
5. Company provided house for the summer in Carlsbad, NM
6. Current house in Carlsbad, NM

5 things people don't know about me:.
1. I wish I could play the piano really well.
2. I want to buy a Toyota Forerunner, and then never purchase another vehicle the rest of my life. Car payments scare me.
3. My parents remind me all the time that I’m going to have red-headed children, as if I don’t already know that my hair is red too.
4. I only had a few towels when I was in college and it bothered me so bad that I had to use a towel more than once sometimes.
5. I have never left my hair down to go to the gym. I think that is so nasty.

Cloudcroft, New Mexico

October 2009. Telford and I got to spend a weekend in Cloudcroft. It was the best weekend. We drove up there on Friday after work and stayed at my cousin Nick's cabin in Mayhill. We were pretty much roughing it in the cabin. It didn't have a bathroom and is in the middle of remodeling. But we survived the night. But we listened to elk bugle all night long.

On Saturday we woke up to go dirt biking, Whoot Whoot! We went to talk to a forest ranger about what trails we could ride on, and the ranger was a big fat turd. He was so mad that we were dirtbikers. He obviously had some personal problems with dirt bikers. He could barely tell us what trails we could ride.

Anyways, we ended up riding the "Rim Trail" single track. It was a very narrow and rocky trail. It was a pretty ride, and it overlooked White Sands.

It reminded me of the Highline trail in Soda. If you get off the trail, your bike is giong to fall a ways down. But it was super fun. We seen some pretty fall colors along the way. On our ride back, my back tire slipped of the trail, so I immediately layed my bike over so I would go off the trail. I waited for Tel to turn around and help me lift my bike back onto the trail. After he helped me, I continued down the trail, while he turned his bike around. After a while of him not catching up to me, I turned back around to go find him. Tel had tried turning his bike around on the super narrow trail, and in the process, his bike slid off the trail a few yards. It was way too steep for him to ride the bike back onto the trail. So I got down by his bike to help him. We were trying to walk the bike back onto the trail. But that was not working, it would peel out every time. I started thinking how bad this sucked because I knew I wasn't too much help for Tel. If he had another guy with him, they could probably get the bike up with out a problem. But then Tel said that one time Bob Lee's bike was in this same situation one time, and it was hard with four guys trying to get the bike back on the trail. So after that, I knew we weren't going to be able to get the bike back up on our own. We tried everything for about 20 minutes. We finally cleared a really good path that went across the mountain, because we couldn't push it straight up. Me and Tel together pushed the bike. Each time we pushed it would move the bike a couple of feet, which we were so happy about. He slowly kept doing that untill we got the bike back on the trail 45 or so minutes later. We were so dang exhausted after that. It was a good thing we were on our way back or else that would have ruined us for the rest of the day.So we slowly made our way back to the truck.

We stopped and took pictures of the pretty Fall Colors

After we got loaded up, we went to An Apple Fest that was going on in Cloudcroft. We walked around all the vendors and bought a couple boxes of apples for my cousin. There was also this store called the "Apple Barn" that we loved. I got me some really cute apple salt and pepper shakers. Then we ate at some BBQ place. Then we drove around for a couple of hours in the mountains. It was so nice to be up in the mountains. We seen a billion deer and Blue Jays all weekend.

When it started getting dark, we headed back to the cabin for the evening. There was one of those portable fire pits on the deck of the cabin, so we decided to have a little fire on the road in front of the cabin. We just sat out and relaxed for a couple of hours. We pretended we had marshmallows too, ok..maybe I was just imagining I had one, I don't know about Tel. He was probably wishing he had a steak or something.

The next morning we woke up and hiked the "Osha Trail." It was a fun, short hike.

The trail overlooked the White Sands. During our hike we heard what we thought was a deer running through the trees close to us. Then all of a sudden there was a deer that darted on the path and was running straight toward us. Tel and I both froze. When the deer kept getting closer, I darted off the trail, and that scared the deer and made it turn a different direction. I think the deer thought we were trees or something, because we weren't moving, and he was running right at us. So it livened up our hike for a minute. After our hike, we headed home to Carlsbad.

Christmas 2007

I decided I would put some pictures up from Christmas 2007.

We look awkward in this picture..Can we sit any further away from each other?

The 3 Beautiful Rae's

Tel got me a sweet pink Ogio bag for dirtbiking. He also had the bag filled with fun stuff; slippers, cafe rio gift card, ice tray, shoe holder thingy from IKEA, and Dvd's. Sweet present eh?

4-Wheeling to Subway..Really?

So one spring day (2008) we made plans with Tel's cousin Brady and his wife and their friends Kelly and Jodie to four wheeler from Newton to a Subway in Tremonten to eat dinner. We were getting anxious for summer to come so we thought this would be fun. We started four wheeling on a dirt road that would take us over to Subway, and about 10 minutes into the ride we ran into snow. Of course their is still snow..Hello. We tried bombing through some of the drifts, but the drifts got bigger the further we went. So eventually we had to turn around. So no Subway for us. Instead we road to the little convenient store that Newton has and bought stuff to grill up some hamburgers at Kelly's house in Newton. I remember the ride to the store was so dang cold. Tel and I were on a four wheeler, as well as Kelly and Jodie, but Brady and Britney were on Brady's dirt bike together. It looked very dangerous to me! I am not for the double upping on dirt bikes. It scares me. Once we got back to Kelly's house we grilled up hamburgers and watched "Transformers." It was a fun night in Newton.

On the drive to Newton.

Puppies

These pictures are from a couple summers ago (2008 maybe). The puppies were so cute when they were little.

And the name we shall call them will be, RIDER and THOR, or in the case they don't respond because they can't learn their name after 3 years, we will call them Puppins.

~Sunsets in New Mexico~

To our surprise, Tel and I have been able to find something that is prettier in New Mexico than in Idaho. That is the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Every morning I get to see the sun rise on my drive to work. It is such a great feeling to me to be awake before the sun, and to witness it's rise. One of the worst feelings to me, is sleeping too long and feeling like you have missed out on part of your day. But when you are awake before the sun, you know you aren't sleeping your life away. I remember my Dad always telling me that "the early bird always gets the worm." I guess I have him to blame for my inability to sleep in. This is so true to me. I feel like when I rise early I do get the worm. My worm being the feeling of self worth and confidence, knowing that I am living my life to the fullest and working hard. Growing up in Soda Springs, I've always been surrounded by mountains which cover up the beautiful sunsets. But we have enjoyed many beautiful sunsets in New Mexico.

This picture was taken outside our front porch one evening.

Pumpkin Extravaganza!

So one of our Friday night dates was a pumpkin Extravaganza with Sarah and Lawrence. We went to a local pumpkin patch to get us some pumpkins, which was the hardest part of the entire night. So many pumpkins to choose from. Sarah and I got cute little ones, and the boys had to get big ones (it must be a guy thing). Then we went to Sarah and Lawrence's and enjoyed so Papa Murphy's Pizza before the carving began. I love Papa Murphy's and I always suggest getting pizza from there and Tel always says no, because he doesn't like it. And I always want to order supreme pizza instead of pepperoni, but Tel doesn't like that either. So, Lawrence and Sarah got a supreme pizza from Papa Murphy's and well Tel didn't have any other option but to eat it....and he LOVED IT! Years of trying to get him to like it never worked. But thank you Sarah and Lawrence. Now tel won't eat pepperoni because he wants supreme! But anyways, rethinking things, the hardest part was actually picking a picture online to print out to carve. I ended up picking out a rock hard pumpkin. Tel couldn't even cut through it, so Lawrence had to bust out his power tools! I had to use a saw to carve mine. After we were done carving pumpkins we watched the movie, "The Proposal." It was a fun night.

This is what you call a "Pumpkin Kiss"

And the Final Product...

The Nee's with their Pumpkins

Telford picked out the Joker from Batman, Lawrence did the Nightmare Before Christmas, I did a kitty, and Sarah did a chihuahua.

Honeymoon in Cancun

Tel and I spent our honeymoon in Cancun at the Dreams Resort. It was an all inclusive resort. So that basically means we ate a lot of food and drank a lot of smoothies. It was so nice to get away after a busy week. We only had our wedding and reception on our mind for that entire week, that we didn't show up in Cancun very prepared. We both forgot sunglasses. Hello...who goes to Mexico without their shades. Tel also forgot a hat, and I forgot flip flops. We quickly went shopping to get our necessities taken care of. Our resort was right on the beach and was so beautiful. It had four different restaurant and waiters waiting on you 24-7 at the beach. They even had a sushi bar. It was so nice to just relax and be pampered. They also had dolphins on sight. That was pretty cool. It was also the best weather. Only one of the days was so hot that we had to keep getting in the water to cool down. The rest of the days were just perfect. We decided that all inclusive resorts were right up there with cruises. We liked the entertainment on cruises better, but we liked being on the beach at the resort better than being on the ship at night. But don't get me wrong, we wouldn't pass up a chance to do either. It's kind of funny, the only thing Tel and I really missed while we were gone was popcorn. Lame huh. Half way through our trip we went to a convenient store to get some popcorn. And tel of course, missed Mt. Dew. He bought one as soon as we got to the airport. But we had a great honeymoon!

I love the view of Cancun in the Background.

This picture was taken by our friend, Deb from New York. She loved Tel.

This was outside our Resort.

We loved our stocked fridge of "Frothy Beverages." We drank so much pop. Tel drank all the Sprite and COkes, and I drank all the Dt. Cokes.

This was about 10 yards from our room.

These little critters were right outside our door. We only took 1000 pictures of them. We even saw two of them fighting or mating, we don't know what they were doing.

This was our room!

Telford loved him a "Mango Tango"
