4th of July Weekend

We spent the 4th of July Weekend in Cloudcroft, NM with Brady and Britney. We stayed at Boe's sweet cabin in Sacramento. We headed up there Thursday after work.

Friday morning we woke up to pouring rain. So we improvised from the dirt biking plan to shopping in down town Cloudcroft.

I got a cute ring and Tel and I bought our first piece of art, called "living life." It is now hanging above our piano. We ate lunch at a really good cafe. Later in the evening we were able to squeeze in a very small ride after the rain died down.

That night back at the Cabin, Britney made amazing tin foil dinners and peach cobbler. We sat out by the fire the rest of the night. A salamander even stopped by to say hi. Ewe. On Saturday we woke up and played a game of Settler of Catan, before heading off for a ride. We went on a pretty difficult ride due to the slick rocks and muddy ground. We met a couple of guys that were from Roswell that ride quite a bit. We kept crossing paths with them over the weekend. Weird huh. But we had a fun ride and took lots of pictures.

We seen a couple of elk on our ride as well. That night we had Hawaiian haystacks for dinner and smores. Tel and Brady also entertained us by duct taping a rod on top of their helmet and then trying to catch a Frisbee around the pole. The things we do for entertainment I guess.

On Sunday (4th of July) we went on an even funner ride (in my opinion). It was a super fun trail.  The sun was shining all day. After our ride, we cleaned up the cabin and headed back to Carlsbad. We made it back in time to go watch the fireworks in town with Katie Jo, Will, Sarah, and Lawrence. Good times. It just wouldn't have felt like the fourth of July without fireworks.
