MAGIC KINGDOM

Today we visited the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

It was Tel’s very FIRST Disney experience. YAH!  He loved it. This wasn’t the only “First” of Tel’s, he also learned to smile!

Pirates of the Caribbean was the first ride we went on!

Telford lost to me on the Buzz lightyear ride! He was too busy twirling the car around.

AHHH Newly Weds at Disney Land!

We Love Minnie!

Although I dig the Lilo and Stitch hat, it was our least favorite ride of the day! BOO on it. It was honestly the only thing we didn't like at the park.

3D Mickey Mouse Movie!

We didn’t get to take our picture with Mickey, the line was just too long for us to wait. That was the only unfortunate part of the day. Oh ya, Tel didn't get a TURKEY LEG either, so that was sad. HAHA
Tel’s favorite ride was Space Mountain.  We waited for 45 minutes for the ride, but Tel thought it was worth the wait.

Tomorrow we go to Universal Studios! Bring on the Hulk and Dueling Dragons….

Weekend Wrap Up!

Friday after work, Tel and I golfed the par 3 course. It's such a convenient and nice course for us. We caught up to the golfers in front of us, which ended up being Nick and Stacey and their kids. So we joined them and finished up the next 5 or 6 holes. It was a lot of fun. We finished up with hitting a bucket of balls at the driving range. Tel is totally in his groove now. If only I could kink my elbow different like Tel did and be able to hit as straight as he's hitting now! He was so bumped when we left! haha it was fun.

Saturday, we woke up and met with the running/walking group from work at 7am. There were only 7 of us so we ended up just walking 2 miles along the river. Then Rudy bought us all breakfast at Dennys! Lol. We all thought it was funny that are watches told us we burned something like 134 calories, so we made jokes that we could only eat 134 calories at Dennys....ya right!

Saturday evening we had a BBQ at Will's new house. It was a ton of fun. We grilled lots of food and I took Strawberry shortcake, that was a big hit!! Strawberries are so good and cheap right now! I should've made some jam this week like Maren did. Anyways, we met some fun new people at the BBQ. Will's girlfriend, Katie Jo is super cute. We are hopefully gonna get a softball team going this summer. We also met a guy, John that is hilarious. He was tap dancing while juggling for us.He is also quite the story teller. He made me feel like I was actually at a Circus because of the way he would describe some of the circus acts that he has seen. His nickname is "John Carnie." Which fits him well.I guess he is a man of many traits. Scrabble is probably the only thing I could ever beat him at. So he was most of our entertainment for the night. We also played some fun games. I totally dominated scrabble! Whoot, Whoot!  We also played a way fun game, "Last Word." That Will won. It was so nice to sit around a fire and chill too! Yah! bring on the camping season.Super excited for Brittney and Brady to move here!

Sunday's church was great. After church the missionaries stopped by for a bit. Then Tel and I went and played some basketball on the hoops across our street. Then went on a 5 mile walk! Go us. Our feet are just going to keep going and going and going at Disney World. We are gonna cover some serious ground.

PS. 2 days until DISNEY WORLD!

We have our days all planned out, according to park hours and other events! Super excited.

Hail storms are INSANE!

So I came across these pictures from about a month ago. They are pictures of GARGANTUAN sized hail from a hail storm here in Carlsbad! I have never seen hail like this in Utah or Idaho. And I guess this wasn't even that bad compared to what the locals have seen, ahhhh! Thank goodness our vehicles didn't get any hail damage.

Those are pieces of hail that Tel grabbed from the ground.
To give you a measurement, that is Tel's wedding ring.

Compared to a PECAN.

House Update

So a little update on our house. We spent the entire duration of last week painting our lives away. Lisa helped us paint every single day. Most of last week I had to work, so as soon as I got off work, I joined her in the painting festivity. I am so, so, so, so, grateful for her! I would still be at least 2 weeks from having the painting done, if it wasn't for her. I told her the only way we can repay her is to paint her house for her, as long as it doesn't need to be primed! Our entire house needed to be primed because we had basically the entire house, re-textured. After 6 wasted gallons of paint, we were able to find colors to finish everything in the house, excluding the kitchen, which is kind of a nightmare to think about. I will post pictures of the bedrooms after we have put the trim up.We also pulled up the carpet in the master bedroom, which had beautiful hard wood floors under it! I want to pull up the living room carpet that has hard wood floors under it. But that is another year's project.

Randy and Debbie were down in Carlsbad last week and brought us down a stove from our Sanders wedding money. So yah for a new white stove! We also got the sick green stove and gross fridge out of the kitchen too. Even having that gone makes the kitchen look billion times better.

Lawrence and Sarah were over at our new house over the weekend and Lawrence was able to help Tel get the sprinkler system going in the backyard. Now we just need to find the panel that is buried in one of the garden beds to turn on the front yard.

Tomorrow the appraiser is coming to look at the house. If everything goes ok with that, then we will be able to close once the report is back to our lender. Hopefully on the 20th!

Oh ya, we go to Disney World in 1 week and 1 day! I'm sooooooooo excited. I keep telling Tel that we need to make him a t-shirt that says "my first time meeting Micky Mouse" or something like that. But he doesn't really like that idea.

Last night we had a BBQ over at AJ and Bethany's and watched the NCAA championship game. They are so fun to chill with. AJ is even kind enough to sacrifice a few eyelashes, a side of his head hair, and some eyebrows in order to get the grill hot enough to cook our burgers...what a good friend. It was a close game and DUKE ended up winning. Good food, friends, and basketball = a great Monday FHE activity!

Why We Love Children!?

This is a super cute email that I thought I would share!!!!

1) NUDITY I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'

2) OPINIONS On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note from his mother. The note read, 'The opinions expressed by this child are not necessarily those of his parents .'

3) KETCHUP A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle.'

4) MORE NUDITY A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy before?'

5) POLICE # 1 While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well, then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?'

6) POLICE # 2 It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back there?' he asked. 'It sure is,' I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'

7) ELDERLY While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by t he various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'

8) DRESS-UP A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit..' 'And why not, darling?' 'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

9) DEATH While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.'

10) SCHOOL A little girl had just finished her first week of school. 'I'm just wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write, and they won't let me talk!'

11) BIBLE A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. 'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out. 'What have you got there, dear?' With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's Adam's underwear!
Easter Weekend with the Sisters

Last week I did a Career Fair in Albuquerque for work. I was there for three days and hosted the fair at a Hilton Hotel in Albuquerque. Sasha flew into Albuquerque on the last night I was there. So I picked her up and she stayed the night with me at the hotel and then we did some shopping the next day, which was April Fool's day.
Sasha got April fooled pretty bad. Her friend told her that her prom dress had gotten ruined at the dry cleaners and she was freaking out about that. So then we felt that we needed to pass on a prank. So we told Alex, Sasha's friend some story about getting my two front teeth knocked out., because Sasha tripped me. It was the dumbest, but funniest story ever.It pretty much entertained us for the entire 4 1/2 hour drive from Albuquerque to Carlsbad. It was such a windy drive home. We seen 2 semis that had been blown over on the side of the road.

On Friday, Lisa got into Carlsbad too. That night we grilled up some burgers and went to the drive-inn. The next morning we went and golfed the Par 3 course and laid out by the river. Bad idea not to wear sunscreen! My legs look like lobster legs. Sometimes I forget that I have red hair, and along with that, I have red haired skin and I burn! Sasha made thin crust pizza dough for dinner, and we all made our own pizzas. FUN!

Sunday was even hotter than Saturday, the high being like 89 degrees. We were so hot in our house. We made Cafe Rio's pork salads. So with the crock pot on and the stove on, our house was soooooo miserably hot! But the salads turned out great! I wore sunscreen when we were outside on Sunday though. I learned my lesson from the day before. Because of the weather, it didn't really feel like Easter Sunday. . There were so many BBQ's going on at the river that it felt more like the 4th of July. But it was a fun Easter!

Over the weekend we made many trips over to the house we are buying to see the progress of the texturing on the walls and ceilings. It is now paint ready! So Lisa and I are going to be painting our little arms off this week! Yah for Lisa's paint skills to help me. I will have to post pictures of the finished, painted rooms.
