Charlotte Rae Myers

On September 5th, 2012 Telford and I headed to our 39 week scheduled prenatal apointment. I had all of my questions written out for my doctor, most of them focused on what happens if I go over my due date (which I was paranoid was going to happen). When the doctor came into the room he joked that he was going to check me to see if I was in active labor or not.  He proceeded to check my dialiation and quickly stopped and said that I was dialated at a 7 and was in fact in active labor and needed to get to the hospital right away. He quickly left the room muttering that he was going to call and let the hospital know I was on my way.

After Telford and I were left alone to digest this information, he tried to understand if the doctor was joking or not. After a few minutes, the doctor never came back, so Telford and I decided to debate on whether we should go to the hospital or to our house to get our hospital bag. Telford decided to go home to get our stuff and me being paranoid of not making it to the hospital in time to get an epidural went to the hospital (and listening to what the doc said to do :). 

After checking into the hospital and getting the epidural, Tel and I had a couple of hours to try and grasp the fact that we were having a baby that day. I even asked the nurse when I got to the hospital to check me to make sure I was really in labor because I was a bit paranoid that maybe my doctor made a mistake.

At 4:45pm, we welcomed Charlotte Rae Myers to our family. She was 7 pounds 5 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long. She is just perfect.
